When In Doubt… Dance It Out
Connor and Sophie met on Craigslist. LET ME EXPLAIN. It’s not as creepy as it sounds.
Connor had moved to Palo Alto in 2012, starting an exciting new job at Tesla, but had nowhere to actually live. Many frantic Google searches later he came across a *cheap* room in a run-down-apartment complex. His roommates were an aspiring lawyer, an ex-rocket scientist, and a non-profit employee studying to become a doctor.
Over the course of a year, Connor met a number of coworkers from the non-profit and befriended a beautiful, vivacious dog lover named Sophie. *cue courtship music*
After a year of barbecues, game nights, and outings in the wild streets of Palo Alto, Sophie invited Connor to come out for drinks and dancing at the legendary Patio. Connor wowed Sophie with his boyish looks and sweet dance moves; so much so that she decided to date him.
The next four-plus years included adopting an adorable pup named Peaches (who is a wonderful model, btw), buying a home in Oakland, and having a wedding in one of their favorite places.
What’s better than a midsummer Sebastopol wedding?
A Midsummer Sebastopol Wedding
Sophie and Connor had their wedding at Sophie’s mother and step-father’s house. They could seriously rent this space out for other weddings – it’s that stunning!
The venue was upscale rustic, and classy with a color theme of mauve and dusty rose. It partnered beautifully with the pastoral wine country scenery. Guests dressed in their cocktail attire and sipped on signature drinks including Old Fashioneds (groom’s drink of choice) and Palomas (brides drink of choice). They had florals done by Home Sweet Flowers, food from Firefly Catering and the wedding coordinated by Nicki Wolfe.
Family Knows Best
This midsummer Sebastopol wedding was full of familial substance. The ceremony was officiated by three of their aunties and the bride and groom’s grandmothers read a poem. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Sophie and Connor solidified their marriage with the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass. It was awesome!
Sophie, with the biggest heart, wanted to have a donation option for their guests in lieu of gifts. They had the option of choosing from three species to help fund conservation efforts for: the Cotton-Top Tamarins, Ethiopian Wolves, and Penguins. You can donate too if you like!
Sophie and Connor, here ’s to you both! To many more wonderful dances, tequila shots, and tender love.
