Have you ever been at a wedding so perfectly lovely that you had to pinch yourself to make sure you weren’t dreaming? Andrea and Steve’s Deer Park Villa wedding was exactly that.
Boy Meets Girl
If you ask them how they met, the couple will tell you “the old-fashioned way” – online, through OK Cupid! For their first “date” they met at a Peet’s coffee – where Steve ordered a smoothie and Andrea had a Chai tea. Turns out neither of them drinks coffee. Their first real date, once they’d decided they were truly interested, was in Tilden Park (where they also had their engagement pictures taken!). They love to hike and travel together (Steve is a Wildlife Biologist) and have been all over the world, from Alaska to Brazil. Wait ‘til you hear where they went for their honeymoon!
Best. Wedding. Planning. Hack.
The wedding was rustic elegance, perfected. Shout out to their amazing planner, Aminah Mitchell who handled everything! She explains:
“Andrea told me that she wanted rustic elegance and based on that I created a vision board, which she loved. From that point on, she and Steve trusted my judgment and creative perspective to bring their vision to life.
I picked out everything from the invitations down to the flatware. Aside from the invitations, every detail that I chose for their Deer Park Villa wedding was revealed to them when they showed up to the venue. Majority of my clients trust me to carry out their vision in this way.
The Vintage Rolls Royce was the biggest and unexpected surprise and one that I looked forward to revealing the most.”
Oh yeah. That happened. Andrea showed up to the ceremony with her dad in a Vintage Rolls Royce. Talk about elegant!
Deer Park Villa Wedding, A Thing of Beauty
Before the wedding the party got ready at the nearby Claremont Hotel, which was really just perfect. Their venue, Deer Park Villa, is a gem nestled into the redwoods. I love it! It was the perfect backdrop for the blush and light gray color scheme. Also perfect: the altar flower arrangement. Seriously, look at it and swoon.
Sweets to the Sweet
Another highlight was the cake – a gorgeous fairy-tale in the redwoods. They also had an ice cream sundae bar because Steve loves ice cream, and yes of course I had one! Delish! And to top off even the most voracious sweet tooth, wedding favors were still-warm cookies from Anthony’s Cookies.
Andrea and Steve are such a lovely couple. They create this little bubble of love and happiness around themselves and when you are with them, you are invited in.
Congratulations, you two! Keep loving, and may your lives together be as unbelievably beautiful as your wedding day.
…oh yes. For the honeymoon, these avid travelers went to… Tanzania and Zanzibar! Because of course they did, that’s why.
Thank you Rachel Capil for helping capture all this beauty!!!
