You would think, after all the weddings I have been at, they would start to feel repetitive. But each couple has their own unique love and each wedding reflects that, and sometimes you get one that is just surprises all around. Heather & Josh’s desert wedding in Joshua Tree, CA was as intimate as the landscape was vast, and I loved it so so so much!
The lovebirds met just over a year ago through a longtime friend of Heather’s – who also happens to be Josh’s little sister! It’s been one magical moment after another ever since, and I swear that magic was sprinkled everywhere at their adorable elopement in the desert.
An Intimate Desert Wedding in Joshua Tree
Heather & Josh managed to pull together all the best parts of an elopement. It was just them and Hazel the pup – who carried the titles of flower girl and ring bearer proudly. I was privileged to double as witness and photographer.
The bride was stunning in her Rent the Runway dress and these dazzling emerald shoes she purchased in Italy a few years back. Her bouquet of simple purple tulips perfectly complemented both the shoes and the desert colors. Magic! I told you.
(We also made Josh shell out $20 for a “placeholder ring,” which the Palm Desert City Hall has available, since they plan to exchange “real rings” at their big wedding this coming August. 😂)
Love in the Desert
And then the photos, wow! These desert vistas are breathtaking: the sky was so big, the colors so intense, it would have been impossible to take a bad photo, even if these two weren’t ridiculously photogenic already. Seriously, you guys, stop making my job so easy!
Congratulations, you two! I hope your lives together are as grand as the vistas on your wedding day.
