A Magical Big Sky Montana Wedding
If I had to pick a place to name heaven on earth, I think Big Sky, Montana would be a no-brainer. Stunning, breathtaking and majestic – I couldn’t have dreamed up a better place than Rainbow Ranch Lodge for Whitney & Kyle to tie the knot! The icy cold river that flowed along the property, the greenery, the mountains that surrounded us…unbelievable. It was a magical setting for a magical Big Sky Montana wedding.
An Extraordinary Ordinary Day
Like most tales of magic, this one starts on an ordinary day with two ordinary people doing ordinary things. Whitney & Kyle met at Santa Rosa Ski and Sports in Sonoma County, CA, where they were both working at the time. What happened next is a tale as old as time, and now they are a goofy, passionate, over-the-moon-in-love couple.
All the Wedding Feels
Whitney & Kyle’s classic Big Sky, Montana wedding was full of feels – all the feels. If we weren’t crying at emotional moments we were wiping away tears of laughter. The wedding party was small and sweet, the officiant was an old friend, and the bride walked down the aisle to “Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, so basically everything was beyond perfect. Be still my beating heart!
Such Details!
The details were amazing and seemingly effortless (and as someone who has planned a wedding I know they weren’t effortless at all!); Carrie, the venue coordinator, made everything about the weekend flawless.
The florals by Katalin Green were gorgeous – wild flowers everywhere! Then the mix match chairs, the “I love you to the mountains & back” sign that hung above them at dinner, the mad “wed” libs. And of course the chalk boards at the ceremony informing everyone that “there was a gal here taking pics, so no need for you to” were amazing!
A Throwback to Childhood
Another amazing touch was the beautiful teepee in honor of Whitney’s grandparents – as a kid she spent so much time with them in Montana (where they still live!) and they always had a teepee in the yard for the grandkids.
Custom-Designed Wedding Dress
Whitney’s dress was literally made for her, designed and created by the talented Sharifa Raou of The House of Couture. You can’t get more perfect than that, darlings! In her own words:
“My dress was custom made by a lady in Walnut Creek who did an amazing job. I couldn’t find the perfect dress so she created it for me! Amazing.”
And let me tell you, amazing it was.
Song & Dance & Midnight Snacks
The reception was rockin’, with everyone getting into the mood. The speeches set a great tone, and AJ the DJ did the rest. So much fun, and then late night snacks just to keep everyone going!
Congratulations, you lovers and dreamers. May your marriage be the best mountain you ever climb.
