Every once in awhile, you step through a wardrobe or a mirror or a red brick wall and find yourself in a magical place. The Bodega Bay Secret Gardens are one of those places you are afraid to leave, for fear you will never find them again, and it was the most romantic, spiritual place for Christina & Burton’s wedding.

A Magical Bodega Bay Secret Gardens Wedding

Everywhere you look in the gardens you see a little cottage, a magical nook, a fairy statue or an inspiring quote. Everything is overarched by green – so much green! It feels like you could explore the pathways forever and never find all the quiet benches inviting you to sit and daydream.

Honestly, I could go on all day about just the venue! But I wouldn’t want you to get the wrong impression – the rest of the wedding was equally incredible.

Flower arrangements by Vanda Floral Designs and a family friend blended right into the rest of the gardens, making it feel as if the whole venue had appeared just for the wedding. The colors were red and white with a little bit of everything else – pink, lavender and yellow, with the pink echoed again in Christina’s dancing shoes for the reception.

Enchanted Love

The bride was absolutely stunning in her Amy Kuschel dress, strapless with Chantilly lace, with a few simple flowers in her hair, sparkly sandals and earrings and a flowing white scarf.

The ceremony was one of a kind. Christina’s father officiated and her mother read “Love” by Khalil Gibran. Then her sister recited an incantation inviting Earth Energy and the Divine Feminine to bless the couple.

Food, Fun, Family

The food reflected the groom’s side of the family, with catering by Tu Mero Mole. There were Arizmendi Wedding Cookies for dessert. Then they broke out the music, lights and dancing and the party came alive!

The couple had the sweetest favors; little pink quartz hearts for everyone to take home, along with the magical memories from the day.

How They Met

And first things last: How they met, in the bride’s own words.

“I was walking with my best friend Abi Warwas by the lake and she spotted Burton…. She said hi and introduced me. Burton was talking to [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][an] elderly woman…and he was being so respectful and listening to her so intently. It was really cute. As we walked away I asked her who that was, and she said Burton works with her husband Ian and that [he] was single. I said that I thought he was cute and would go on a date with him! Abi told Ian, Ian told Burton, and Burton asked permission and then called me.”

Aww!

Congratulations, Burton & Christina. May the magic of your wedding day flow through every thread of your marriage, and may love always hold you close.
