Fate Works In Mysterious Ways
So, before we dive into the details of Farah and Jourdan’s beautiful Tehama Golf Club wedding you need to read about how they met!
Farah and Jourdan almost were most certainly fated to meet. They are both Posse alum, which is a four-year, full tuition leadership scholarship that recruits diverse, talented teams of ten students and sends them to top colleges and universities across the country. These two are smartie pants! The Posse community is proud and close-knit, in fact, Posse members where the Groomswoman, and officiant!
In 2001, Jourdan was accepted into De Pauw University in Indiana. 6 Years later and some couple of hundred miles away, Farah was accepted in the University of Wisconsin, in Madison. When they were apart of Posse, they had acquired many of the same friends, but Farah and Jourdan never met.
In 2012, Jourdan moved to Michigan and complete his MBA. Ironically, Farah decided to pursue her M.Ed at her alma mater.
In a chance encounter at a BBQ for graduate students, Farah was chatting with a friend about her journey to graduate school, mentioning Posse, and said friend made the connection with his friend, Jourdan and offered to introduce them!
One thing leads to another and a few days later Jourdan and Farah are spending hours at the local coffee shop discussing how they imagined improving the K-12 education system. The rest is #ASuttonFarahTale!
Arabian Nights At The Tehama Golf Club Wedding
Having a Tehama Golf Club wedding is nothing short of romantic. Farah and Jourdan planned the entire wedding themselves. Every. Single. Detail. Stress level: 1oo. However, the ever-thoughtful Jourdan had an idea for the two of them. Farah told me the story of what happened after the Guest Arrival Celebration the night before the big day: “Jourdan took me on a little road trip to the spot in Monterey where he proposed. He told me that no matter how hectic things get in our lives, we have each other and these moments are here to remind us of our partnership. As we shared our last romantic kiss before officially becoming husband and wife, my heart melted, and I felt such a deep warmth in my heart – I was so ready to become his wife!” Partners in everything. I love it!
Let’s flash forward to the wedding day! Having a Tehama Golf Club wedding is nothing short of romantic. There was no shortage of sparkle and gold! The colors were a Marsala wine, Gold, Navy, and Ivory. Guests were decked out in formal wear, and there was no shortage of wonderful traditions during the ceremony and reception.
Oh, and did I mention Farah had not one, but TWO dresses! Well, it was a wedding dress then layered with a stunning skirt before the ceremony. She surprised her fiance, which apparently it’s well known that he doesn’t surprise easy.
From Jourdan: “We talked about our first look for months, so despite not seeing her dress beforehand, I was sure I knew what to expect. Standing there, greeting friends and family, and anxiously awaiting my bride, I had no idea she had another trick up her sleeve. As she turned the corner into view, she had a completely different dress on! Somehow, she had done it again. On the most important day of our lives, she was able to surprise me. I felt an indescribable sense of both excitement and relief, and I knew I was ready to spend the rest of my life with her.”
Isn’t this the cutest? Farah, that dress plus additional skirt was STUNNING! Novella Brides SF is responsible for this piece of art. I love seeing couples attend to each other’s needs like that. During the wedding, Jourdan and Farah had a “jumping over the broom” ceremony and a traditional Lebanese Zaffee band with 5 members. It was a wonderful melding of two families from different backgrounds coming together to celebrate the love of Jourdan and Farah.
I wish you two many more years of little wonderful surprises! Congrats Jourdan and Farah!
